You gotta love people w/o any real animal experience. But he was funny to listen to. If that cat wanted him,, that bat wasn't going to do much for him.

But he made a valid point. "I'm gonna protect myself!" It's what we all should be capable of for the unknown, potential threats that suddenly appear.

I'd rather deal with our mountain lions than the African Tsavo lions in the movie...two very different critters.

This guy probably saw a big tabby cat lol.....a Coyote was hit by a car in Baltimore City. The "locals" were going crazy screaming "That's a WOLF!!! That's a damn killer WOLF! There be WOLFS here now! WOLFS gonna be eating us oh lord!!!".

I used to hunt Utah way back in the day. My former Father N Law had a nice spot in the rocks over looking a valley where the mule deer would venture to in the evening. We walked up the trail and he set me on a ledge with a great view. He then walked further down and said he would be back at dark. Once everything settled after awhile I heard what sounded like someone behind me. My Father N Law got cold easily and I thought it was him coming up the trail between the rocks to get me. I turned but nothing was there. At dark I heard what was definitely somebody behind me. I turned and my Father N Law was standing between the big rocks, with his light on the ground. I gathered my rifle/backpack and walked up to him. He chuckled and said "you had a visitor". There were cougar prints over my boot prints. Appeared it was travelling between the rocks, saw me, and checked me out briefly and split.

Ahh, cougar prints on top of boot prints. I had a friend convinced he was being followed by one of I'd seen the tracks on a ridge line on the way up. On the way down I found one where he stepped on a cougar print. I spun a tale about lions picking someone and just following them. Had him spooked Al the way back to the Jeep.

What cracks me up is you know it must be in the hood the way he keeps looking around. When you walk in a good area as a town, you don’t have to keep checking your back trail all the time.
