Stopped at the local Costco this afternoon. I went to the checkout with about 25 pounds of pork belly for bacon, 20 pounds of pork belly for pulled pork, and a dozen and a half roses for the wife.

Checkout Guy: That's an odd combination.

Me: Well, it is the season...

Checkout Guy: Which season is that?

Me: You've never heard of the days of swine and roses?

Checkout Guy: ...

As an aside, I also snagged three 325 round boxes of Federal Auto Match .22lr at what is rapidly becoming my favorite gun store for non-gun purchases.

Ah, it's going that way, is it?

Well yes, I think it is. Costco is antigun, anti concealed carry and a threat to everything you should, as a gun owner, disagree with. This is a pro gun, pro carry, pro freedom, pro constitution website. Don't be surprised when someone says something about where you bow down and suckle from the teat of the antis.

The point, when LGBTs/minorities are banned, hassled, mistreated they ban together and force a change. We gun owners just don't seem to get it, or at least some of us.

I realize you have the right to shop where you want but don't get your panties in a wad if someone says something that might make you mad.

Huhwhat: I am not really picking or singling you out, I just hate that we gun owners can't at least be as good as the other so called groups that protest and boycott businesses who take away constitutional rights. JMO my friend.

I try my damndest to not buy/shop/use a business that is anti-gun. I am not always successful as I have seen in a few posts but I try.

Lighten up Mr sensitive,I go there frequently.

I will never spend a dollar at their stores. Read above. You take away my rights then I will not participate in your profits. I do realize it is private property and they have the right to set the rules. I also have the right to say nope, I won't shop at your establishment. Again JMO.

That would've floored me if your Chinese mart sold ammo.

Chinese mart is a accurate description all right, I stopped going to Costco years ago, not only did I feel like a minority shopping in China cause I was the only white guy there surrounded by asians, Costco is also owned and run by anti-gun liberals that are pro-gay and support obumer, Costco has lobbied for many of Obama’s legislative priorities, including obemercare and donated money to his campaign, I'm sure they are supporting Hillabeast now.

Sorry Huhwhat? didn't mean to make your post political after you enjoyrd your shopping trip, I just can not do business with these kind of people, and I just can not spend my hard earned money in good faith to support the enemy.

That's funny.....

My wife got me to join Costco last year... so far we spend about $300 every two months there... but only on food and none from China... I don't see the place any different that 'uncle' Sam's seems most everything is made in China these days.... from what I've heard Costco treats their employees much better than Wallyworld or its derivative. But then that might be some of you folks objection to Costco... seems paying minimum wage and only keeping employees part time (just under full time) to keep from paying for health insurance is the corporate and American way.
Would be nice is they sold some of that Federal Champion too.
don't know where the anti gun part comes from.... I carry concealed in mine all the time.... no signs.

They have no signs around here, either. However, this thread is not a political thread. You want to rail against evil Costco, start your own thread in the politics section.

"The days of swine and roses".
That's a good one. Started my day off with a laugh.

When's that pulled pork gonna be done? I'll probably smell it cooking over Mingus Mountain.

Probably not this week. I have to get beef jerky smoked today or tomorrow, and then I have to get bacon curing.

I just stopped in to the local Costco for a tank of gas (2.34) and a bag of dog food. The only thing is - the 38 under my shirt and the KA-BAR in my boot probably would've been enough to get me removed if noticed?

I use their gas an pharmacy most often, plus decent prices on real Colombian coffee (after watching an expose' on "blended" coffee I avoid such). I guess most shoppers there are impulse buyers, from the looks of their carts at checkout. I get a kick out of the obese and morbidly-obese shoppers woofing free samples and then haunting the candy aisles.

As HW alluded, the beef and pork are pretty good deals a high-quality IME, and there are bargains in bulk, if one is so inclined.

Mohavesam, not sure about where you are but I've carried into Costco for a long time and haven't ever had any one say anything. No signs that say no guns or anything like that. Owner may be a whacko but I don't think the locals care one way or the other. I've never seen ANY indication they have a problem with guns.

Hey guys, read the contract you signed with Costco. I will leave it at that. It seems some folks don't want to believe the truth. Your contract with Costco says very clearly that you can not carry a gun. Period, no question, no argument, no debate. No freaking gun. They DO NOT HAVE TO POST A SIGN, IT IS A PRIVATE CLUB. How hard is that to understand for God's sake. You signed an agreement with them and agreed with them that you would abide by their rules. Their rules say you can't carry a gun in their stores. If you carry a gun in the store it is considered criminal trespass, that is a felony in many states. Do you really want to shop there?

I can't believe I have made enemies over this. It is just ridiculous. Keep shopping there, support the anti gun crowd. I am done trying to convince anyone that every dollar they spend at a anti drives our rights to the ground. Huhwhat. I'm done brother, you will never here another peep from me about guns, oh wait a minute, that is what this site is all about. Oh well, you keep giving and they will keep taking.

Every time I see someone posting "I'm done...here", they aren't. ;)
Narcissism begins at home. :D

The choice to carry any gun, any knife, any purposed weapon outside one's home should only begin with choosing a very good attorney...
there, I'm glad that got settled!

I only meant any COSTCO that sold ammo would've amazed me. I go there to save some money. The anti-gun malaise is everywhere and there's very little mom-and-pop anything here.

I wasn't trying to trash your thread.

I did like the "day of swine and roses". No signs at the Costcos I have been in down here in the SW and I know many of their employees belong to ranges I belong to. I and friends carry concealed in there.
