Correct Mag for .17 HM2 ?

Did Ruger use standard 10/22 mags or were they different?

Is it a 10/17 or a 77/17. I think they used the regular mags but it matters if it is a 10 or 77. 10/22 mags are more rounded on the bottoms and the 77/22 mags will work in a 10/22 they just do not like to eject easy.

Thanks for the correction,,your right I ment the 77/17RM2. I know that the .22 Short conversion requires a special mag.

I don't recall any .17M2 chambered guns being shipped. 17 HMR yes, but not the 17M2.

I am pretty sure the standard mags work for the 17 HM2. I still kick myself for passing up a 77/17 Mach 2 at a gun show for $300 OTD, but other things were taking priority at the time.

They are a Rare Bird! for sure,,,and that price is about 1/2 what they are worth NIB IMHO.

Regular 10-22lr mags work fine in my 10-22 and 96-22 converted to 17M2.

I did not know they are rare I got one about a year ago it is the heavy varmint model. I got a nice little 2x7x33 leupold scope on it, it shoots well for me with the eley ammo. I got mine for about $350 without the scope.

Years ago, CDNN sold off 77/17HM2s - I didn't take advantage of it though as I had sunk my money into two CZ452 .17HM2s (an American and a Varmint) that they offered a few months earlier.

I found a 77/17 RM2 NIB 2 years ago for $389.00 and jumped on it. Beautiful walnut, 20" barrel. Light and accurate for work on still jackrabbits from close in to 150 yds. I'll never part with it.
