Converting Mk II to 22/45?

Hard to believe that I first asked about this process two years ago but time flies when you're getting older.

Today's question is about the mainspring housing. I can put the upper on the 22/45 lower. That's easy. However, when I insert the mainspring housing, I can't latch it. The hammer strut is where it needs to be as is the bolt stop pin.

Do I need to do some judicious filing of the hook on the mainspring housing?

That is the usual problem on this conversion. It doesn’t take much at all.

The angle of the grip frames are different. Thus they use different MS housings.

Unless I am way off, he is just swapping the upper, same MSH. The hook on 22/45 ‘s don’t always fit with a swapped upper.

I do have the mainspring housing that came with the 22/45.

Can you put the MSH pin in from the top?

This is just an alignment check.

If the hammer is in cocked position you need to release it so the MS can be closed! Remember pistol muzzle up trigger pulled insert MS. When MS is closed the hammer should be in the fired position!
