I have narrowed my search to the sr9c or cz P-01. Both feel great. I have read quite a bit about the ftf problems with the 9c. Are the newly manufactured guns sent out with a longer firing pin spring? As I understand it that is Ruger's fix to the light strike problem. I own the LCR and LCP and really like both guns. Thanks:

The SR9c is quite a bit smaller than the P-01, more the size of a CZ RAMI sub-compact. The P-01 is a great gun and fun to shoot, the SR9c is a very nice sub-compact and I rate it higher than the RAMI. I am a big time CZ backer and own a lot of them but that is my opinion. If you don't need a fairly small pistol and a compact is right for you, I recommend the P-01, if you are looking for something smaller, the SR9c is what I would choose.

Just remember that forums tend to have a lot of requests for help or advice or complaining outright about a product. Take reports of FTF or Light Primer Strikes with a grain of salt or three. Not saying it's not an issue for some, but it's most definitely not an issue for the vast majority of owners.

Like Cheese said I'd value the two differently since they're different sizes, both are great guns, really a matter of which one you prefer.

I have had no FTF issues since Ruger replaced the striker assembly. I would assume that the new striker is standard now.

I love the SR9C!

I have both the SR9 and the SR9c. I have had zero problems and I've got about 500 rounds through each by now. They just keep getting better and better to shoot. They are especially fun to shoot together!

Thanks for the input. I am hoping that on the new sr9c's that ruger has changed the strike assemblies. Love the feel of the 9c.

RWA, most of the light strikes were specific to WWB, but WWB claims (from conversations per another SR9c owner) that their ammo was within spec.

If anything you can check the actual gun your store will sell you, it should have a spent shell casing. Ask to look at that to get a relative date on when it was atleast tested. More recent, the better your odds at the most recent changes in production.

I bought a new stainless SR9c about 2 months ago. Since then, I have put about 400-500 rounds downrange with the pistol, various ammo manufacturers and different weights. I have had no problems with the pistol at all. I would highly recommend this model. Of course, like the other posters stated... different strokes for different folks.

Good luck,

My SR9c made it to my LGS early April, and the spent casing with it is dated March 26th. I put 500 rounds downrange of cheap Federal, S&B, Remington JHP, and some reloaded high power rounds the range sells. Absolutely no issues firing or ejecting, and just minor peening on the ear of the barrel lockup which subsided around 200 rounds.

I finally got a P-01 a few weeks ago. Absolutely love it!
The P-01 has been throughly tested and abused and has proven itself.
I have only put 100 rounds through mine. So far, so good!

I too have a SR9c, that was test fired on 06/15/10 and I have had NO problems other than it's to much fun to shoot!!!!!

Lateck,

I like them P93s, but limp wristing isn't a defect in any gun. It is a fault that lies on the shooter.

Edit: never-mind the post has been removed :D
