It sounds like you worked for IBM, and the US government should never have allowed the IBM PC business to be sold to a Chinese company! These PCs are sold as Lenovo.

Yup! What makes the matter WORSE is we employees wanted to buy the PC company much like they sold the printer division in Lexington and they refused to consider it. I was amazed that the U.S. Government allowed the technology to go to China.
Dell, Compaq, HP, Microsoft, Lenovo and others scooped up many of the PC company's top minds and even though they offered me a position in North Carolina I took the buyout and moved on.

Grouch Attack solved(?) my problems-sort of. Guess she got tired of listening to me cuss and grumble. Bought a new 'puter' at Walmart on sale $150 off the display price and includes all new monitor, wireless mouse/keyboard. Probably not going to shift all my 'stuff' over until Grandson is here next month.

My dad punched and painted cards at the card plant in Sherman, TX while attending Austin College. He was drafted into the Army for Vietnam and was trained for computer work. His main job was overseeing civilian programmers. IBM offered him a job once discharged and went on to write code for Skylab and Space Shuttle. Before that though he worked as a civilian contractor at the Pentagon. I remember reel to reel machines in cold rooms and the first re-writable disc machine I remember was the size of a washing machine. I learned DOS in 6th grade (mid-1980's). I will have to move to Windows 11 because I work for a GM dealer franchise and GM will make it VERY difficult to stay with Windows 10. Whether or not the OS has any bearing on GM apps, GM's tech people will not help a dealer employee unless the machine and OS meet minimum spec. GM's minimum spec WILL switch from W10 to W11 if it has not already. I only look at the specs when I am shopping for a machine.

Gary, I must say we must be very close in age. I started with mainframes back in the late '60s. I use to write operating system software for one of the main mainframe companies back then (Univac, then Unisys). We used punched cards for our programs, and had to feed them into a card reader to load the program. I still have my computer tape reel from the early '90s with all my own data.
As for the ballistics, that program sounds intriguing, BUT ammo varies immensely, even for the same caliber and bullet weight, so I do not see how any program could be accurate enough to lead you to any specific ammo. It could only give you generalizations, which can often be often quite misleading as well. My ballistics file links you to over 4,000 online websites where that specific ammo is sold. In each entry of this file, it includes data like availability, cost (including cost per round), ballistics (for just that exact ammo), bullet type, and more. I have several revolvers, and I built this file so I could buy ammo at the lowest prices, for the power and bullet types I wanted. It kept growing because I was (and still am) in many forums or answered/partook/responded to many YouTube websites, where there is so much BS. If you are interested in seeing my ballistics file, message me here, and I will send you the latest released version. I just sent out a release a week ago or so. But since the file is so large, it is hard to keep it all up-to-date (availability and cost). Each entry has a date stamp when I was last there and verified the data for that entry.

I have it on an old 286. The internal battery went dead a few years ago and it lost the operating system. I tried to restore it but didn't have any luck. Probably because I don't know how....LOL.
