What would a 1967 Woodsman never fired in box with all papers be worth?
Father-in-law never got to shoot it. He did get to shoot my Mark II and the grip angle made him like it.
He only shot once and that was with me. I guess he put work over everything else.

I sure wish I had kept my Colt Woodsman Match Target pistol. I sold it thirty years ago and damn near had a heart attack when I saw what they go for now. Sure could have used it for Bullseye shooting.

you MUST know which model, of what era,,,big difference, the Match target go upwards of $2000...
read the end label and let us know....and yes, some of the boxes are $200 and up......
we;ve sold Woodsmans anywhere from $600 to almost $2300.......do your homework 8)

I would happily pay him every dime and tax he paid for it!!
As mentioned, they are quite collectable, and in the stated condition would be premium.
Can you find someone with a current Blue Book of Gun Values? prices can still vary considerably, but as mentioned, pay close attention to the particulars of the gun and you should get close.

You can ask any amount you like, getting it is a different story! Nice little guns just not
my thing! ps

The Colt Woodsman is a very nice Pistol.

I would look at the Fugate Firearms Site,
to get an Idea of Price.

They maybe on the Expensive side, but their
Firearms are the Very Best.

Good luck on your Endeavors.

I found the sales slip in the box. I was wrong about the date of the pistol. It was sold in 1958 for $69.30 from a gun dealer. It's a Target Sport model.
Thanks

well then, you could trade him if he likes yours,BUT my bet is that Colt is worth like 20 times the purchase price these days, if "mint in the box" with all the papers and accoutrements...Yes check Fugates web site, I've sold Matt and John many guns over the years, if its THAT nice , they will pay the price 8)

I've had a few Woodsman types, kinda wentnutson them when I got my first collector's FFL. All types, right up through 1977 (last year) are "C&R" eligible. I just bought a 1972 Match Target in exc condition, for just under $950, with three extra correct-era mags. I passed on the box for a couple reasons.

The current fad of paying triple just because the Colt's name in on a gun is one I'll not participate with. Colt's has made zillions of guns, some great, some dogs. That said, the Woodsman types are great shooting plinkers and target guns. I still like the. Late models a lot.

One of the guns that nowadays, proves the addage "a fool and his money are soon parted". I've seen Woodsman, Challengers, Targetsman, and especially the Match variants with wild pricing. Remember reserve auction selling prices do NOT set market value, only true fair auctions do. That's whyso many use web-auction sites as pricing indicators and are surprised by Fjestads' blue book pricing. They use only fair auction histories.
Research via www.colt22.com for some of the best info on these great guns. No shooter should be without one.

The Colt Woodsman was a nice .22 pistol but I shoot the .22 rounds of Bullseye with a Browning Buckmark. It's a good pistol, mine has had many thousands of rounds through it. It also has a very good trigger once you do the Heggis Flip on the sear spring. $300 is pretty reasonable too.
