Colt 1911

Headed out to shoot this pistol with my son. It will be his first time to shoot it. My dad carried it in WW2. That will make 3 generations ( possibly 4 if my granddad shot it) to have shot this fine old pistol.

Beautiful family heirloom to be treasured always - thanks for posting it. I'd be surprised if your granddad had not fired it.

Here's one inherited from my Dad's best friend, a Hump pilot, who carried it in the pictured shoulder holster throughout the war.
