Old Clyde woke up in the Coronary Care Unit, his wife of over fifty years, at his side.
"Where am I?" he croaked.
"I'm right here beside you," answered Martha. "You suffered a heart attack while we were walking. But you're going to be fine."
After a moment, Clyde said, "Remember when we got married? I tripped on your veil and fell down the stairs and broke my leg and both arms."
"Yes, I remember," she answered, slightly smiling at the memory. "And I was right by your side then."
"And on our anniversay," Clyde continued, "The candles set the tablecloth on fire and the fire spread. I was badly burned and we lost our house."
"Yes. And I sat by you bedside through you recovery."
"And when we went on that vacation, and that semi rammed our motor home and I was laid up with broken ribs and a skull fracture" continued Clyde.
"And I was there through it all," mused Martha.
A moment's pause, then Clyde spoke up, "Martha, you're bad luck!"
