Good commercial, unfortunately, the world isn't like this anymore. On a functional standpoint, the Chevy dealership has had anything as interesting as a 66 Impala for years. As far as I am concerned, GM died with Pontiac and Pontiac died in 1979 when they started putting olds and chevy engines in them.

Hi,

Great video! It brought back memories: I have a buddy who may have a '65 Impala convertible that's still in like new condition. I've seen the car only once, but it would be a good companion to the young lady's Mom's restored car.

I say "may have" because his grandfather bought it new, drove it a couple of years, then passed away. The car went to my buddy's grandmother, then his Mom, and she garaged it for several years, taking it out maybe once a month to knock some spiders out of the muffler. I hope it went to him next when she passed away and if it did, he never succumbed to the temptation of trading it for a sizable wad of green.

A friend has a '68 Charger she bought years ago in HS, from the parents of a young man who'd just bought it before shipping out to Viet Nam. He didn't make it home. Today it's another "once a month out of the garage" vehicle.

It makes me wonder how many 10s or 100s of 1000s of similar stories and fond memories there are out there.

Nothing like a muscle car from the 60’s. I put a new battery on my 1965 Tri-Power GTO this weekend. Never too soon to look forward to warm days.

HI,

Is it too early to start humming Jan and Dean songs? ;)

My GMC Sierra 2500HD would argue the point that "GM died.........in 1979".
That is because you are not a Pontiac guy! For me, that meant a Pontiac engine, not a chevy or olds under the hood.

Hmm, does that mean that my Fiero isn't really a Pontiac? In two more years my youngest will be old enough that I can take it out of the outbuilding and actually drive it again!

It wouldn't be a Pontiac to me, but enjoy yourself. I'm too big to fit in one.
