CBD oil ?

I've been hearing a lot about this stuff. I heard about this site on the radio.

I went all over that site and there is just one thing I can't find. What exactly is this stuff supposed to do? I starting reading their customer reviews on the stuff, but they are all vague about what it does. The site itself does not state what it is supposed to do.

I find that kind of strange.

Some claim it is a pain reliever, also good for joint pain I've been told. fact is there
has been little science involved and is still in it's infancy. Some have even hinted
there could be a cure for cancer in there somewhere! Time will tell. There is no effect
as far as getting high goes, medicinal only!

Since I've only seen a few TV ads, and those within the hours when "But wait, if you call within the next 10 minutes..." ads pop up every few minutes, I'd start there... people never want to admit they've been hoodwinked, and the "placebo effect" is as strong today as it ever was, so I'd be doubtful of any kind of miracle cure for who knows what all, including possibly cancer, that pops up as this week's "darling of the Internet." Especially when it involves a cannabinoid with all the controversy involved with such products.

Best thing about this stuff is it probably doesn't do much, if any, harm. And I seem to recall something about "First, do no harm" as being the prime rule of medical practice!

I too, have heard all the miracles and have friends that swear by it. The most convincing a friend's daughter with RA (at 26) She says it has done more than all of the other things they have tried in the past three years.

Do your research. For giggles I gabbed a magazine at the grocery all about it. There is CBD oil and there is CBD oil. It can be made from hemp as well as cannabis. It can have x potency or not. On top of some hard sell (BS??) the magazine did explain what to look for and how to determine what you are buying or avoiding.

The stories have been around for years so I'll assume where there is smoke there is fire. Just not sure if it's a campfire or an inferno.

CBD oil is primarily good for anxiety, pain and cancer treatment side effects. It has many other potential benefits, but the 'big 3' are the ones I mentioned previously.

Two things to remember:

1 - Advertising 'cures' puts a seller squarely in the crosshairs of the medical establishment. This is why you won't see 'what it does'.
2 - The pharmaceutical industry will NOT condone anything to do with hemp, marijuana or any of it's many byproducts UNTIL it's got control of production.

The other thing to know is that it's a federal offense. If you have firearms, you can't have CBD.

It's NOT snake oil. It's a natural remedy that's been used for longer than any of us have been alive. Special interests and of course wealth drive the prohibition of the stuff, not 'snakeoilism' ;)

My late stepson passed from stage4 cancer, from prostate and bone cancer over hil entire body. When he found out he only had an estimate 6 month live the said to hell with that. He got onto all kinds of stuff that supposedly helps with cancer from a concoction of blended Aloe vera leaves with the thorns remover with alcohol and honey added to one of the oils from the marijuana plant. Based on some stuff I read that aloe vera mix does sometimes make a difference and may actually cure cancer under the right circumstances. He thought it was what helped him last about 3 years past the time the doc said he would pass. He also said the MJ oil helped with the pain. The sad news is the cancer had spread so far by the time he was diagnosed that really nothing could be done to save his life. He found out too late.

As far as I'm concerned, if MJ or byproducts from MJ can help with cancer and pain, then I'm all for it. As long as big pharma can spend the money to keep MJ illegal for any purpose just so they can enrich their coffers, then I'll doubt any headway toward real and positive research will ever occur. Big pharma can't make money off of MJ as it's a natural product. Must make them angry as hell.

I would guess that the price of CBD oil will go down. Seems like lots of people are getting into growing hemp for the oil. Dairy farmers are getting into it because the price of milk is so low. I must admit, some of these operations are impressive. I hope there's enough oil processors around and a big enough market to handle all the Hemp being grown. A lot of people are either going to make a lot of money or lose a lot of money.

Natural honey is honey straight from the bees. Lots of honey found in the stores has been adulterated with stuff like corn syrup. As long as it doesn't have a lot they can still call it pure. My wife used to get in 5 pound buckets from a beekeeper. Everything was still their including bee parts. It didn't taste any different to me but it sure was expensive. Guess the bee parts made it taste better or some such.

I heard a guy talking about the marvelous results he was getting from his "CBD gummy bears". Another guy asked to see that package and then returned it. Later the second guy commented that there wasn't enough CBD in an entire package of the candy to be even vaguely effective.

There used to be an ostrich farm in Hemet. It didn't last that long. The property is now covered with ground mounted solar panels. I mean hundreds of them as far as I can see over the fence.

I have been unimpressed with MJ or CBD. I have had friends with cancer, who tried that route instead of allopathic therapies, and they died. One had breast cancer, which allopathic remedies CURE! She left 5 children and a husband. CBD is supposed to be anti inflammatory, and that is why it helps so many things. As far as it being used for all these things for a long time? I don’t think so! My father had health food stores as I grew up. He was into conspiracy theories. NONE HAD TO DO WITH MJ, CBD wasn’t even heard of then. Yes, more REAL DOUBLE BLIND STUDIES need to be done. I am ok with placebo effect, but we also need to know which is and which isn’t.

They then poured some cbd oil in it,and showed the cancer cells dying.
I asked them what would happen if they poured some Jack Daniels in for a comparison test,and got no answer.

A friend of mine has about five hives. He gives us several quarts every once in a while. There are no bee parts in it whatsoever. Good quality honey should be properly filtered, not adulterated but properly filtered to remove all foreign matter.

Very recently a lot of peach orchards and grape farms have ripped all their plants out and planted hemp. Lots of hemp "cures" for sale around there even being sold in Safeway stores. There are literaly hundreds of hemp "grows" around Medford. I'm pretty sure they'll glut their market just as the MJ growers did.

One problem with the hemp farms is they use miles of wide strips of plastic over their hemp rows. The plants grow through holes in the plastic. They can't use the plastic again because its weakened by the sun and tears. Big discussions around these parts about what to do with hundreds of tons of that stuff each year. Makes the move to banish plastic straws look pretty silly.

A question keeps occurring to me is how come other countries where hemp has been always been legal to grow hemp aren't in this business? Could it be that there isn't really any market for it other than to make snake oil? The days of hemp rope in maritime is pretty well gone.

The local farmers are either going to be rich or broke I guess.

Many problems with the CBD that's for sale...
No lab test to show percentage of CBD and purity.
Like many herbs it's sold as a "food supplement" and not as a medicine.

CBD for medicine started from the marijuana plant, not just the hemp plant.
Marijuana was crossbreed with the hemp plant to increase the CBD. Marijuana has CBD in a lower percentage that the hemp. But a combination of both(50-50) CBD and THC was found to be the best for medical purposes. Which can only be sold in legal states.. that's one reason only hemp oil is sold in other states. Just a note: Both marijuana and hemp are varieties of cannabis.

Both marijuana and hemp have a high degree of being anti inflammatory. With both CBD and THC in the mix it is the number one medicine for arthritis. The THC kills pain and both being anti inflammatory.. it has no equal!

I drove by the guy selling honey yesterday and his sign actually says 'Local Raw Honey' and for some reason I remembered it as saying 'Natural'. Sorry bout that. :roll:

There's "raw"(natural) honey and then there's "pasteurized" (processed) . I think MO required that honey be labeled to reflect this. As with milk, some areas may not allow the sale of "raw" honey directly to consumers.

My wife has tried it for her knee pain (2 replacements and needs some additional surgery) and it works. It helped with my back pain but I'm cheap so I'm sticking with my $5 a month opiates instead.

Still....if fedgov says its so dangerous why was fedgov doing this research and why did they want the patent? Why wouldn't they want the findings in the public domain? Fedgov and the pharmaceutical industry are supposed to be buddies, right?
