Old thread,, but still fun!

As I type this,, I have (1) of our cats asleep beside me on the desk. She's had her special Sunday breakfast,, demanded her drink of water from the sink, gotten her required petting (while getting between me & the keyboard,) and finally settled down beside me.
Love it all!

Always a dog guy and now I have my first cat. The wife likes cats so now in have one also. The one she found was bred in Virginia and we had to drive from NY to Va to pick him up. Some of the first words the breeder spoke were, “he’s a biter” and “ and doesn’t like the men”. Ya know he knows cats and he was right. It took some time and some blood but he came around to how he needed to be a member of the family. He’s a good pet now and I even walk him pretty often. His name is Quinn.
Were waiting to move out of state to get a new pup.

I agree, the advances in i-phone cameras is incredible. When I brag about the wonderful photos I get from my i-phone, my Wife quickly reminds me it's not an i-phone, but something else. Whatever it is, the photos are quality enough I seldom bring a real camera with me.

This was our girl Emily. The most fun and loving cat ever. Actually, as fun and loving as our previous cats, as they were very fun and loving too.

Rescued her in 2009. The Vet figured she was 2 or 3 then. We lost her this year, to renal failure.😢 At 16 or 17, we could as easily said she died from old age.

She was very special. For years, I always said I was a dog person. But in all honesty, I am a dog and cat person.

This is Charlie aka Fat Bastardson. He will be 3 in May and is the youngest and largest of our cats at 22lbs. We got him from my niece from my 1st marriage and he is named for my current wife's uncle Charlie. He is a trip and big clown. When I get home from work at about midnight he is there to greet me at the door. He speaks when we ask him if he wants a "kitty cookie". We have shelves and perches and bridges around our living room on 3 walls so the cats can have fun.

Our relatively new cat...
Got her from the Humane Society in December. They figured she was a year and a half old, and already had a litter of babies.
Quite a personality. Her latest thing is fetching. For hours, we throw her toys, and she brings them back. Also, she has a cat tree-house which she loves. We store her toys in the little cubby hole, maybe a dozen of them, and often in minutes, she pulls them out and drops them to the floor.

I recently got the new iPhone 14. My old phone was the 11 so it was getting pretty old in technology years.

But man-oh-man, they have really up'ed the game with the camera in the new phones.

My cat is dark in color so it's just hard to get a good picture of her. Here she is sitting in a window. Side light and since it's raining outside, the light is nicely diffused.

I disturbed precious from his never ending nap to take the picture. A rescue someone dumped off by our house a few years ago. He now owns us. The open mouth is a meeooww saying you bothered me.

Cute Calico... Did Y'all know that a Male calico is very rare? The overwhelming majority of Calico's are female.

This stray adopted us a couple years ago.
As most have mentioned, she is now in charge of the house and has 2 servants!

Her black, brown & gold colors reminded me of the Ruger Bearcat and after some tequila one night,
I added a little "Baja" to her name, so now she is BearGato. Gato being Spanish for Cat.

Love the cats,
Cheers,
JaydaWg

@WAYNO congrats on the new cat!

We are "babysitting" this little guy, Zane, for our daughter as she and her husband relocate. We haven't had a cat since our kids were little and then I got too busy running schools and never home. Daughter now says he is ours as we have somehow managed to spoil him, not sure how that happened. He is fun and it didn't take him long to get us trained to his liking.

Not sure how that happened? Lol. Cats are masters of letting you spoil them, and making you think it was your idea.
