Browsing around online this afternoon since it's too darn hot to do anything outside right now and this thought popped into my head.

A No.1 with the action , rib , grip cap , and possibly the rings case colored is on my want list now.

Anyone have one done up with pictures to share?

I don't have one but I have threatened to have one. Might send one to Turnbull.

I have one but sorry I don't have photos to share. I believe Turnbull did mine - looks just like the one on his web page:

With the rust blue it is a looker!

Yes that is nice! Without having to call them for a quote , does anyone know what the cost is for that?

Turnbull built me a rifle and I can vouch for his work. You get what you pay for. He did not case color harden it, however, all the other work was impeccable.

Yes, that one really turned out nice! It's an RSI, and the pistol grip cap, for end cap and rings were also done.

It started life as a 243, but Steve Durren lined the barrel and it is now a 22 Hornet that shoots little bitty bug hole groups!

Really classy little rifle!

The other one is also a full custom. Stock hand carved and hand checkered with an ebony for end tip. Douglas air gauged xx barrel chambered in 222 Rem.

It is probably my most accurate No. 1 and I absolutely LOVE it.

My only regret in the build was not having it CCH'ed, so I had it done later...i don't like the looks of it as much as my other one, but it's still pretty nice.

Ya, I don't quite understand that...

The last time I called and asked about pricing they told me that I could send a polished receiver and save a bunch of $$$.

Now granted, that has been a couple years ago so something must have changed.

Kip Wood in MT. Pleasant MI did my case hardening for a custom 257 Roberts AI and it is every bit what I could have wanted from anyone.
