I just heard this one while listening to Car Talk this morning; It is their "Puzzler" question.

As we all know, Christmas Day and New Years day are always exactly SEVEN days apart and Always fall on the same day of the week. :) :)
Except:
What was the most recent year where the Two days fell on different days of the week ??

Christmas and New Years Day fall on different days on most given years.

I'd say that most years, except maybe leap year, Christmas and January 1 fall on different days.
Jan 1,2015 on Thursday
Dec 25, 2015 on Friday

I was a big fan of Car Talk and was saddened when one of the brothers died. The reruns are OK, but getting a bit dated. At some point the name of the show will have to change to "ancient car talk" or "classic car talk". I'm surprised that the surviving brother hasn't found a new radio partner to continue the show, but maybe its just too painful for him to move on at this point.

The correct answer is that they NEVER fall on the same day of the week in ANY year!!

If you check, you WILL discover that New Year 2015 fell on a Thursday and this year (2015) Christmas Day will fall on a Friday !! In 2014, Jan 01, 2014 fell on a Wednesday and Christmas 2014 on a Thursday.
