Should GI WWII Colts have the SN on the slide? Can't recall I've ever heard of that. I have a number of WWII Rem-Rand and Ithaca slides and none of them has a SN on it. Couple years ago I restored a 1924 genuine Colt and it didn't have the SN on the slide, either.prangle said:I paid $1400 + 2 parts=$1500, I thought I was getting a complete COLT. But the Frame and the Slide do not have the same serial number.
Interesting. As my Dad always told me, "You learn something new every day if you're not careful." :wink:BigJ71 said:Yep war era Colts (as well as other years) have the last digits of the serial number on the back of the slide behind the firing pin retainer.
