Bucks and does on video 2022

My son and I in a stand watching bucks. It was a beautiful morning. A group of bucks came through browsing and a couple were butting heads at one point.

I have spent some time teaching my boy where to look for indicators of deer activity, and he identified an area with tracks, rubs, and scrapes. I love sitting with my 10 year old son and observing Mother Nature.

My boy and I put down our fishing rods to watch this buck today. Good looker. At the end when he made steps toward me and I calculated 30 feet were between us I cut filming and stood up. He paused his approach and then turned away and continued his walk along the river

Kudos! Letting them bucks walk,, while tagging the does. :D
I'm trying to do the same thing here right now. Our either sex season (in my area,) ends next Saturday. I still have (2) doe tags. After that,, I can focus on my last buck tag.

My son and I each have a buck or two identified we might take if opportunity presents. Mature bucks. But really my boy is just 10 and so I will be okay with almost any buck he targets. Just so happens the one he wants is more mature than others. We aren't trophy hunters at this point. Meat in our freezer is our motivation. So healthy does are just fine at this time.
