PM sentI am converting another Single Seven to a Bisley grips frame and would like to purchase a stainless Bisley hammer and trigger.
I tried to get one from Ruger, the said it was an ffl only item.Yes, I am aware. Have had several people offer up the larger hammers. Still looking for a smaller one if anyone has one they would be willing to part with.
I also called them and that is what I was also told. I think I ordered several from them a number of years ago. No more I guess.I tried to get one from Ruger, the said it was an ffl only item.
Terry, I just called them last week so that is probably what I am going to do. I might just order several while I am at it.Why not have an FFL order for you then? Or am I missing something?![]()
Howie, I can't find the hammer to order it on Midway. Every hammer imaginable except the single six bisley.I’ve always gotten Ruger single action hammers through MidwayUSA. They carry a wide variety of them, but my efforts to link to them are failing.
They’re usually out of stock, but click the link”Notify Me” button to get an email notification when they come back in stock.
When you get the notification, you need to order IMMEDIATELY.
Either order it and eat the shipping, or keep other items in your shopping cart ready to go, if you’re going to try to qualify for free shipping.
I mean, order it IMMEDIATELY, as soon as you see the notification. Don’t use the restroom, get a glass of water, or let the dog out, first.
They can go back out of stock just “that fast.” You’ll probably find they’re out of stock the first couple times you get a notification. I think there are a lot of folks glued to their phones, vs. checking email once of twice a day…
I’ve purchased an assortment of Ruger hammers, this way. It’ll likely come together, eventually!![]()

They just contacted me about an hour ago and told me they have 2 for me. Will try to get there tomorrow to pick them up.were you unable to get them through a FFL?
Looking at the Ruger website, it looks like all the Bisley models are Lipsey’s exclusives, and there aren’t a lot of versions either.
Think the Bisley parts at Ruger are scarce and they’re using them to produce guns with what parts they have for Lipsey’s. Who is known for buying up guns made from leftover parts and selling them at better margins.
