Benchrest Action

My dad began making his own benchrest actions back in the 1980's. Recently, we found this one he started in '94. Never got around to finishing it until now. I know it isn't a Ruger, but thought some of you might like to see a picture:

The whole receiver and bolt are machined from scratch. The trigger is a Shilen. This one will either become a 22 Marciante Blue Streak or 225 Winchester (we're leaning towards the latter).

It'll get fit with a McMillan benchrest stock and match-grade Schneider barrel. Glass may be a 24x Unertl. I'll post more photos when it's done (btw, we haven't final finished the outside....ie, the red marking paint).
 
That's incredible. I can't imagine how you go about making something like that from scratch. Could you take some pictures as the work progresses? I remember you did that on another thread a step by step.
