Bearcats not available?

Thought I might buy myself a late Christmas present of a Bearcat (preferably in stainless) and proceeded to look around the Net for one.
All the usual suspects: Davidson's, Bud's, Impact, etc. show Bearcats as out of stock. Can't seem to find a new one for sale anywhere.

Is Ruger moving Bearcat production to Mayodan? Are there only intermittent runs of Bearcats in Hew Hampshire?

Sure I know that I can always go to the auction sites but I'd rather have a new one.

Anybody know what's up with Bearcat production?

Seems like production of about all wheel guns has slowed to a crawl. Can't find them new ..... can't find them used.

I also bought a Shopkeeper recently. TF date 12/3/13. $450 + taxes here, and I'm happy to have it! I know a leather guy up the hill and it will have a shoulder rig soon enough... if not a lanyard and a vest-pocket setup... hey now.

I doubt very much the Single-Six and Bearcat lines will be moved. Get one now JIC.

I remember reading somewhere a few months ago that Ruger is behind on production of their standard model revolvers and it was going to take around 2 years for them to catch up.

Where in SE MI do you live??

I've been looking for a stainless one, too, for a while. Found one new at Cabela's in Dundee, it was their only one though (the woman checking out my ATF paperwork said they get them "regularly", whatever that means). Cabalea's in Maine has one in their gun library and I was going to ask about shipping it to Dundee then I spotted the new one. They also have one in another gun library (I think Indiana) but the one in Maine looks in better condition.

Guns Galore and Michi-Gun both had a blue one in the display case.

Most however, are a bit over priced. Look around and occasionally you will find a bargain.

I'll have to check out Cabela's in Dundee next time I roll by on US-23. I don't make it up to Fenton very often but Guns Galore is a fun store to visit.

A certain Chevy pickup is soaking up my gun money so the Bearcat is going to have to wait for a little while. :(

In my area, shop keeper models are easy to find but the regular, stainless model is not.

I've been looking for some time now, trying to find a 4" Stainless MkII or MkIII tapered barrel .22. Can't even find one of those any more, so I bought another Single Six in 4⅝" instead. Haven't seen a Bearcat of any configuration around here for quite some time now. What I'd really like in a Bearcat, is one of the older ones in Blue, with the Brass trigger guard. Then, all you gotta be able to do is find .22LR ammo !!

Don't give up looking guys!

I visited my LGS four days ago on Tuesday and asked about a Bearcat in stainless. Was told they did not have one but would see what they could do. Got a call the next day that they had found one and ordered it for me. It came in Friday and I picked it up yesterday. Great little gun.

The date on the test cartridge envelope was March 27, 2014. So it was in the distribution channel for only two weeks when my LGS claimed it.

I got this to have it converted into a custom .327 Federal, and while I'm still planning to do that, I also think I'll shoot it a bit as is.

Love this forum but the only problem is it gives me lots of temptations.
