Bearcat base pin problem

I cannot get the base pin to go into the cylinder. I’ve tried everything I know. Even got a second base pin.. same results. Am I missing something or is there a trick to it

Will the pin fit thru the cylinder when the cylinder is removed from the gun?

Will the pin fit thru the gun's frame with the cylinder removed?

Are you fully depressing the pin release button when you attempt to replace the pin?

You may not have the cylinder in the exact right position.

If the base pin fits through the cylinder hole with the cylinder out of the gun, and it fits through the holes in the frame with the cylinder out of the gun, the cylinder is not in the exact right position.

Yeah. Try doing it with the hammer at half-cock so the bolt is down out of the way and the hand/pawl is sticking out into the window a little. Then try slipping the cylinder into the window, rotating it clockwise as you do so to push the hand up out of the way. The cylinder should slip into the window.

Then try to slip the pin in, being sure you push the pin release button in and rotating the cylinder as you push it in. It takes three hands, I know.

yes, good info above, the rear end of the Bearcat cylinder can be very touchy if even the slightest off center, so a wiggle here and there often does the trick as noted above. Not a lot of room for the all the lockwork in them small bearcats..........

The base pin came out of the gun so it can go back into the gun. All of the above recommendations are spot on!

Wiggle it … just a little bit.

Lubricate the hole in cylinder and holes in the frame before attempting to install the pin. Then do everything posted above.
