When did Ruger 1st start with the warning rollmark on bbl.?

the very end (late)1978, for a few models we recall, then all of them in Jan of 1979.

I bought a 45 cal Blackhawk in June 1978 and it has the warning billboard on the barrel.

The 1st single six I have with it is from 1977, a stainless. None of my 1976 single sixes have it.

The warning doesn't matter to me, even the very earliest of the Sixes had the Ruger brand name on the barrel in the same spot. It's just that Ruger made it a paragraph in 1978, instead of a sentence

It adds a point of "seperation" for collectors, you will often see the term "pre warning" on this forum.

In recent years, Ruger has reduced the warning on the new GP100 to maybe 3 lines and it's more "clean", if that's possible. It's no longer a 6 line block of writing.

My brand new Alaskan has the new 3-line warning.
