Harlee looks just like A neibors dog that we lived across the street from when I was 3-4 years old .His name was Flash and since we lived way out in the country ,there wern't any other kids around for me to play with .My Mom saw him in the yard one day and came rumming out of the house with a broom in her hands and chased him off .20 minuites later he was back just sittin there lookin at the door .Mon call our closest neibor and it was their dog .Turns out the faimaly that lived in the house before us had a little boy my age and Flash was his friend .Somehow he knew there was a new playmate in the house .Mom let me out side and for the next 3 or so years the two of us were enserprable .Mom would even take him with her to pick up my Dad late at night at the bus stop which was way out in the bonnies and some times all the way into Richmond [40miles] to the bus staition ,my Dad drove for Grayhound when there wasn't a bus goiing by the bus stop .I have a pic of Flash and me ,I'll try to scan it in and post
it for y'all .That old boxer was my best buddy ,that was 45 years ago and I still miss him .Not a very good pic ,but here we are cria 1963-4

Great story....Harlee was an aniversery present for my wife, unfortunately ....she turned out to be a daddy's girl. Smartest dog I have ever seen. One day our grandson said "Watch this ...I taught Harlee to play tag." We thought she would just chase him around. When he ran, she ran after him. He put his hand on a tree and said "this is base." She sat down. He took his hand off the tree ...she stood up. When he ran again...she caught up to him and he said "you're it!" She ran over to the tree and put her paw on it. I would have never believed it if I hadn't seen it. Best breed of dog in the world! (My opinion)
