Wifie and I took a little trip for 4 days to New Braunfels and the surrounding area staying on the back roads in the 427 Vette.
Lots of Bluebonnets,Indian Paintbrush and other wildflowers in bloom. Not my photo but it could be.

We could have taken this road which is I-10 at Katy :) :)

Katy Freeway is one of the widest freeways in the world. The road was widened in 2008 to as many as 26 total lanes.

You should have posted a pic of the Katy Freeway during rush hour, when it's a parking lot.

Well Kevin I knew the Brits called that thing in the back you put luggage in a BOOT. We Yanks call it a TRUNK, but I didn't know those 911 Dorks called it a FRUNK;);):):) That figures something the Germans would come up with. Not only that but they don't know what end to put the engine in.

One of the main reasons I bought the 427 is because it has a good sized trunk. The C4s Convertibles like my Grand Sport do not have a trunk just a small space whear the top stores when down.

Dave P What is this GOLD stuff you speak of and you sure do not want to see me in a speedo.
Johnny B the pictures in the post are around Fredericksburg area.

Yep you got that right. We spent a lot of time in the Seattle area when Son was stationed in Bremerton. Since it is rainy and cold most of the time not much use for a convertible anything. ;) Sounds like a well prepared AMBULANCE

At one time Son and I had Orvis edition Grand Cherokees. We both really liked them.
I gave mine to Grandson when I bought a 2009 Trail Rated Grand Cherokee. My 95 on the left and his is a 96

NOPE=just the stuff a long hard road of life has left me needing!

I owned such a hot rod 'Vette for about 12 years. I "customized it" by re-doing the entire interior (custom leather seats, navigation head unit, 900-watt amp and dual subs), then headers, heads, cam, supercharger, etc. (to produce 725 hp at the flywheel), race transmission and stall converter, a complete coil-over suspension, +2 wheels, upgraded brakes, etc. Spent much more on upgrades than the car's original purchase price.

I enjoyed that car, but recently sold it...I stopped enjoying having to maneuver through heavy traffic to get out to wiggly country roads.

I now drive a Found On Road Dead Explorer Sport. Old age sux.

I bought mine in 1962 and sold it in 2007 when I realized I was getting too old to properly undertake serious maintenance; never trusted others to touch it. Still had original paint, chrome etc with 103,000 miles on it (yes it had dings). p.s. was always able to pack everything I needed (for two) for a weeks trip during Spring Break back in the day. Now drive a Camry and a Jap SUV.

 
On a back country drive a few years ago in AZ my wife and I found an area that soothes my soul and we've been house hunting the area for the past couple years.
No blue bonnets or Indian paint brushes.... A bunch elk call it home.
 
I started a "restomod" when I retired but it was a '69 FJ40 Landcruiser (see my avatar) with a Chevy 327 ci. Too old and bashed up. Got mt 4Runner instead
