Baby owls and their mom

I got to within about 25yds of the tree before the mom busted me and was growling at me when I took her picture
Pretty amazing odds for 3 babies to survive our cold wet spring and all the area predators. We got a foot of heavy wet snow about the same time they hatched, she is a great momma, raised two last year and 3 this year.

Nice pictures. We have 3 Barred owls in our neighborhood. Very interesting to watch but my dogs don't like them.

I try to envision how big a pile of rats they eat with two big adults and three huge babies

Rats heck, the one in my area has no problem with cats or very small dogs.
