Hopefully these Herrett’s will take the knuckle rap out of the equation. I chose these because I wanted a more effective, user friendly grip but I wanted them to have that classic, old school look.

Hmm. How does it feel in the hand? Seems it might make for more of a stretch to reach the hammer, but then I don't have large hands.

They do require a bit of a rethink about cocking the hammer. Used single handed it a little stretch. I see these used with two hands and using the off hand thumb to cock.
They feel nice in my hand , but I wear XL gloves.

There was significant muzzle flip with the original grip plus the added bonus of the trigger guard moving and rapping my middle finger knuckle. I don't mind the flip but the knuckle busting made shooting it no fun.
Yes there are a nice piece of walnut.

I was looking for a skip checkered set but couldn't find a set that I wanted to afford😄.
Those look really nice!
What finish is that ? Stainless & blue? I like it!
Thank you. Back in my younger days I had it nickel plated. Cylinder went back to blue after I scorched it a few too many times whoops 🤭

I like how you think
But my set were a gift from my wife years ago. So, they stay with me.
I had to do a little fitting along the back strap on my set, a blending of the edges if you will. So while a great idea a swap might not work out.😊

Hey 41dude, I just noticed that your Super has a few more custom touches like the red ramp front sight and the rear sight. Also the standard Blackhawk hammer and blued ejector rod housing. Cut down barrel too. Very cool 😎. How is the thumb reach with those stocks?

The reach is still long. I wear a size large glove. For me it is a two hand revolver. Right hand grip, left hand for cocking.
I never cared for the Super hammer so I had it swapped out for the Standard Blackhawk hammer.
Millett rear sight.
Also installed a Belt Mountain base pin.
Tightened things up a little.
(Are they still in business?)

The shoes mine usually wears from CLC grips I was lucky to get while CaryC was still making them.

Those CLC grips are very nice. Cary did make some good stuff! I think Belt Mountain was sold to Skinner Sights and are now sold under their banner. I don’t know how extensive their selection is.

Yes, the Herrett's are blocky. Yes, the eliminate the knuckle slap. My .41 Mag currently wears them. I have several sets. The Herrett's tend to come in different thicknesses an have slightly different feels. My gun has a Bisley hammer. I have a sent of extended regular grips the look better and I like with very light loads better but they still rap me pretty good with the heavier stuff.

I personally think the Super looks better with original grips but it is no fun to shoot that way. I like the Herrett’s more than the other types of available grips . The Pachmayr and Hogue rubber work fine and do the job but ugly. Hogue wood stocks use nice wood but the finger grooves look out of place.

I love my handguns and I like to have multiple grips for them. On a single-action revolver I like for the grips to be large enough that they help absorb recoil but small enough that I can cock and fire the revolver single handed. Sometimes it takes a while to find the right ones.

G2 Please tell us all about that Single Six! Especially that barrel!

That’s awesome! I thought that was a barrel from a 10-22 but I wasn’t sure. Looks great!
Thanks for the breakdown.
