Does anyone know if I can take the original buttstock off my ATI Strikeforce (http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productNumber=818358) and replace it with an aftermarket unit like the Magpul(http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productNumber=280976)?

The standard ATI unit works fine, but has a little bit of wobble to it. Some folks say that the Magpul part has less play to it and even if it doesnt I think it looks better (and really, that's what counts right? :) )

Thanks in advance.

I would think you just need to figure out if the tube is mil-spec or commercial spec to make sure you purchase the right one. The CTR and the ACS stocks both have built in friction locks to get rid of the wobble. I have a Magpul ACS on my AR and could not be happier.

For those who might be interested, I measured the tube on my ATI stock and it is a Commercial-spec tube.

Hmm...I am going to have a hard time justifying 100$ for a simple butt-stock upgrade. Anyone care to convince me one way or the other?

You want us to convince you to move foward with your own idea? You asked if it was possible. Whether or not its a great idea is up to you. Its your money after all. All I can say on that issue is, I have an ACS on my AR and it was a worthy purchase to me. Only you can answer if its worth the expense to yourself.
