My ATI Strikeforce stock arrived in the mail today and I took a few minutes at lunchtime to put it together.

So far, so good. the Stock fits the action snugly and seems pretty well made. The folding mechanism seems rugged, a little clunky but Ok. The tele-stock is a little bit loose on the not-buffer tube but again, I dont think it will affect function. I like the multiple points for mounting sling points.

The Cheek rest seems functional too. I set it to the highest position and it works well with my scout-mounted red dot.

The gun looks a little funny with a 20rd magazine in it. I guess I will have to break down and get a few more 30rd mags.

I will post pictures later when i get a chance.

Oh yeah, One thing about the cheek rest, I would NOT be able to use the open sights with the cheekrest in the high position. I am looking into getting a machinist relative to help with making new iron sights to co-witness. I will definitely post pics if that ever happens. (I cant be the only person out there who wants a co-witness setup for their mini 14)

Cheers,

S

I just left the cheek rest off of mine.... these stocks do seem to be pretty substantial and that is the one thing I kind of don't like about them... seem a little heavy and bulky... of course they are designed so that you can clamp every kind of optic and laser sighting system on the front.

To be honest the only reason I got the ATI stock for this particular mini is because the front sight on the mini it seems is canted off to one side or the barrel is or something. Never could get it to shoot on target no matter how far over I moved the rear sight... solution was to put the ATI stock on and a cheap red dot holo sight on the foregrip.

Yes, the 20 round mags are a little short... but you know they are a little lighter too and the mini with an ATI stock ain't light.

you were posting links to the high road pictures not the actual link to where the pictures are... photo bucket or such.
..

Yeah, I used those links because those pics are stored at thehighroad, they arent stored at photobucket or some other website...I guess I should bite the bullet and get a PB account.

Sarg, I like my factory M14 with the ati stock. I bought a tactical sling for mine and if I remember right I don't think the cheek pad will work with a tactical sling. Hope like the new M14, so far mine is working out fine. I got mine, because I don't caew for the AR's. Good Luck, Dave

Oh, I definitely like my Mini14. I get a kick out of seeing it gobble up reloaded rejects that jam my cousin's AR. Plus, my gun is pretty accurate for a Mini. I get 10shot groups that hover around 2.5-3.5 inches @ 100yds with a no-magnification red-dot.

I am looking for a sling to put on mine. I want something that will work well for 3-gun shoots where I might need to let go of the rifle to use the pistol.
