As close to a #5 as I'll ever get.

Having cut my teeth on old models a very long time ago it has taken me a while to warm up to the new models but I have fallen in love with the Bisley's. I have added #5 base pins, Colt type ejector rods, and recently custom grips from Carl Schultz to each one. The SS 45 also wears a Bowen rear sight. Anyway they are as close to having a #5 as I'll ever get.

The Bisley FT 44 Special is the finest new model Ruger has ever made, in my humble opinion.

Depending on which one I'm packing is my favorite at that time.

Order a Powers #5 grip frame for a new model Ruger and have someone like Alan Harton, Jm Stroh or John Gallagher fit it and viola! Even closer to the original #5. Ron aand Randall are getting close to having the next batch of #5's and two piece Colt style grip frames done.

I couldn't agree more with you. This new Bisley is, in a shared opinion, one of Ruger's best attempts. Is that short bbl version a stock item? Both handguns pictured are good lookin' guns. Thank you for sharing them with us. :)

Thanks guys, one and all for the compliments. The black grips are micarta. Carl's website is at privatescustomgrips.com and I think I got the ejector rods from Brownell's but I wouldn't swear to it and yes the 4 5/8" bbl is a stock item. Thanks again.
