AR-556 Delta Ring To Mil-Spec

Those of you that own the AR-556, have any of you replaced the factory threaded delta ring for the more common Mil-Spec spring type delta ring?

Yes , I changed mine so I could install 12 1/2" free float hand gaurd, ordered the mil-speck barrel nut from midway usa , their like 6 or 7$ , by the way the ruger barrel nut is a sob to remove, make sure you have the right tools, the heat then cold thing doesn't help, just brute force, I used a bbarrel nut wrench , a vise block , a torque wrench, and a 2# maul , trust me it's a bear. Oh, I should mention that the barrel nut would have to be replaced to have the mil-speck delta ring, but most free float barrels don't use the delta ring, and spring pack, just the mil-speck, or aftermarket barrel nut.

I don't plan on changing mine. BUT, I do plan on milling me a new threaded delta ring. Yep, I have machinist experience and a friend has the equipment. So, I am going to make one from mild steel, aluminum, and, brass.
The reason the current delta ring is so hard to loosen/tighten is because it's polymer and it "eggs" "flexes" "oblongs" upon removal/install. So, before Ruger comes out with an aftermarket one, I am going to beat them to the finish line. Then, I will go through all of the legal jargon to get it into production.
