My LC9 was covered with a thick smelly oil, enough so i didn't want to touch it before a good cleaning. So far it has performed flawlessly but after 800 trouble free rounds the guide rod shows considerable wear, but i picked up three extra ones in case it wears to the point of needing a replacement. The guide rod is only a $2.00 item so it is not really a problem, more like preventive maintenance.
