Any suggestions for new knife handles?

My sister has a favorite kitchen knife, actually it was my parents knife, and the handle is worn out. My brother-in-law is threatening duct tape. So I am looking for suggestions. I know we have knife makers here on the forum. Do any of you do this type of handle replacement? Thought about trying it myself, but decided that others would probably do it better.

Picture of the knife? Or at least a description of how the handle is attached?

I’ve replaced one with a piece of hardwood dowel epoxied to the tang of the blade. It’s held up for around 35 years. But I don’t let it soak in water.

Is it a full tang or hidden? Full tang you will probably see metal running down the back of the handle all the way with handle pieces on both sides. Hidden you will only see the handle. Full is a heck of a lot easier than hidden.

I saved one a decade ago with good quality adhesive lined heat shrink tubing.....been dishwasher safe too....but not attractive.....better than tape though.

Check out Jantz Knife Supply. They are in Oklahoma but ship of course. They have everything you would need. https://knifemaking.com/ As someone said above, If the knife is a full tang, it would be much easier. Just two slabs, one for each side, and some sort of screws, Chicago screws or Corby Rivets.

It's easy to put a handle on, but hard to make it look good. I've bought several knife kits from Jantz. They are pretty fun to make.

Thanks for the replies. I had searched a little on the internet, but did not stumble across those websites listed here. After visiting those sites, I think I will try it myself. It is a full tang knife blade. It is a very simple knife. It really is simply two rectangular slabs with three rivets. I should have enough hardwood scraps to give it a shot. I suppose if I am not pleased with the results, I will let someone with more experience redo it. I have pictures on my phone but I haven’t ever posted here before either. Something else to learn.

Describe worn out. wood slabs are easy to replace and the rivets are also easy. Pictures please.

The last knife kit I put together from Jantz had G10 scales. I was very surprised at how easy it was to work with the G10 material. But use a good quality face mask! And the G10 looks very classy. You might consider G10, waterproof and pretty durable. Not very expensive either.
