Any Ruger Collectors chasing ser # 1949 ???

I have a NIB Ruger SR-1911 bearing the serial # 1949 (Same year Ruger started)
Any Ruger Collectors chasing that serial # ????????

I would be curious how "PRESCOTT, AZ" and the two-line "RUGER SR1911" look on the right side of the grip frame.
The earliest guns made (Ruger probably started at 670-02000) have the letters of those words in double-line letters. Sometime shortly after 670-02465 was made (that was the gun pictured in the 2012 catalog), they went to letters simply made by a single-line.
I assume your 670-01949 has the letters made out of a single line, but ?
At some point, Ruger almost always goes back and finishes off the first 1-500 or 1-2000 serial numbers.

Find #1949 Standard Auto and that would be AWESOME.....

The only problem is I don't believe it was ever made.....stopped at 660 and jumped to 2000...

From what I've just learned....looks like there are three different variations of frame/serial number markings on the earliest guns.
The 2012 New product catalog first shows 670-02465 and this gun is also still pictured on Ruger's website as the standard SR1911 model. It has "PRESCOTT AZ" and "RUGER SR1911" in double-line letters and the serial number is a fine single-line font. I figured this was the first variation...
But then 670-02049 shows up. It also has the double line "PRESCOTT AZ" and "RUGER SR1911" but the serial number has characters that are wider and the zero's have a diagonal line through them.
All guns seen higher than 670-02465 have these words/numbers in single line font.
I don't remember at the moment....did the low serial number holders get an SR1911? That 670-01949 is throwing me off a little because I thought Ruger started at 670-02000 and went back later to pick up the first 2000 serial numbers.

I have Ser# 670-01279 that I received from the Ruger 4R Program, shipped to me on Sept 13 2011 and has the double line Prescott AZ and Ruger SR1911,with the fine numbers in the ser#. I have a SR1911 in the Night Watchman model 6708 that has the double line words ser# 672-14161

I also received Ser# 670-09897 which I also got from the 4R Program 10/31/2011 but sold that one the Day I received it!

Are you sure? Didn't think the double line words went much further than the first few thousand of production. Maybe Ruger goofed and used that font again later in their CNC machine.

My first SR1911 was -06541 and was purchased at a LGS in June 2011... double-line (boxed) characters but for the s/n. no slashed zeros and not a wider character. Sheesh - we're losing sleep over what was likely a non-engineering, floor-change at the laser-etch table? The S/Ns are etched on later in production, after the slide is logo-etched and finished & prior to test-fire. Was then and I'm sure still is?
BTW - there was a first-year production/s/n list thread here back in 2011. several pages of anecdotal s/n information...

Consecutive Commanders with double line etching and no slashed zeros. Serial numbers much later than noted above.
