Any iPad Air 2 Users?

I am thinking about replacing my old 2009 android Lenovo tablet that with an Apple iPad Air 2 wireless. I use my tablet mostly for web surfing and reading the Ruger Forum. Does anyone out there use an Apple iPad Air 2 and if so what do you think about it?

Have an iPad (non-air model) that's always been just fine. All phones and 'puters here are Mac so may be a bit biased but never an issue with any of them. Adding another Macbook shortly.

I have a regular iPad too. No problems at all. Great for surfing, email and even watching the occasional movie. The learning curve was fairly quick for me moving from windows. It helps to have a kid around to help get started, but you should be able to figure it out. It will do a lot more than you realize.

We have one iPad 2 and two iPad Air models in the house. They belong to my wife and college age kids. They have never had any problems with them over than having to replace charging cables from wear. If you can wait until about Thanksgiving, you will likely see some significant discounts around black Friday. I picked up a couple of Android tablets for gifts last year because of the holiday deals. I don't use an iPad myself because I am too cheap. My last tablet replacement was a Lenovo tablet that I got on a close out. I like the iPads but my Android super deal had pretty good specs and I got it for about $260 less. My children's only complaint about the iPad models are that they do not have a memory card slot. My son likes to keep his photos on the device if possible. You can use cloud storage of course. If you have other Apple devices like iPhones and Apple computers, they do play well together. But so do several other Android family products. I use my tablets for web surfing, viewing photos, YouTube, shopping, checking weather and news, etc. I almost never use the cameras.

I appreciate the info! I believe I will wait until Black Friday and get another Android tablet with a newer processor. I like being able to use a memory card in my Lenovo tablet for photo viewing. I am not a fan of cloud storage. I use mine pretty much like you do and seldom use the camera.

I have a pad air two, had it about a year, only one problem it was with the apple case (the kind that has a flap that when you close it the unit turns off) worked fine for 8 months then all of a sudden the unit would not charge with the case on it. So I enlarged the hole and every thing is good to go. I rarely use my computer now, browse the web, play games, read news, check weather and radar, etc on the iPad Air 2. Like it a lot.

recommend the "logitech type +" Case/Keyboard to go with the iPad. My Phat Phingerz do much better with it than the touch screen

I primarily use the desktop that I am typing on right now, a Sony Vaio with a large touchscreen, but recently I was able to get a new Ipad 2 Air for an incredibly low price as part of a Verizon promotion when I bought a new phone. I've had it for about 6 months now without a single problem. I do have the model with the built in phone line so that I can surf the web even when no wifi is available, a really nice feature. I've been in motels or other places where there is wifi, but it is so weak that using it is more of a hassle than a help, but with my Ipad I can use is with the phone connection. I do pay a monthly charge on my Verizon bill, but it is well worth the expense. I use to use my Iphone for almost everything when away from the house, but with the large screen the Ipad is so much nicer for surfing, games, etc. And Facetime with an Ipad is really nice, having that large screen. My previous tablet was a Kindle Fire which has never been opened again since I got the Ipad.

One addition, due to arthritis my typing skills have really gone down hill (fingers stiff, don't move like they used to) so the touch screen although slow is now easier for me than a regular keyboard.

That is an important consideration for us folks with arthritis and other join problems.
