I stopped at a local B of A branch. Among the pictures displayed on the ATM was one proclaiming
their support for military families. It showed a "Navy" CPO in the blue uniform.
1. No anchor badge on his white saucer cap.
2. No ribbons.
3. No rank/rating insignia on his left sleeve.
4. No hash marks.

B of A is about as anti-gun as a company can be.

Why would gun owners patronize their business?

I don't think there are any pro gun banks

If you wish to make a stand against them then you will have no bank to deal with
No checking, no credit cards, no cashiers checks, nothing

And in this society good luck trying to go all cash

Welcome to 2018

You left out a few details:
~ Was he/she/it black, white, orange green or purple?
~ Was the person's hair clean, neat and properly cut?

There is a saying that goes something like:
Lord, grant me the serenity to change the things I can,
accept the things I can not,
and the wisdom to know the difference.

Doesn't that apply?

Account hacked twice with B of A from South Africa for airplane tickets, last time was on Christmas Eve while I was out shopping (they knew right when to hit, banks being closed) every time I go into the local branch there's one teller working and the line is backed up out the door. Their response, instead of hiring another teller? Put in another line of 'cattle gate' to accommodate the waiting crowd, while the 20-something-year-old Gordon Gekko wannabe managers ignore everyone and walk around with their water bottles, acting important.

Walked into Wells Fargo, three tellers at the windows, no waiting at all, 'Yes sir, how are you today?' from the bank manager herself...night and day difference from B of A.

Wells Fargo Bank once messed up with my Dad; He discovered they had added over $2000 to his savings account; When he tried to tell a one of the clerks she denied it, he got a manager and HE DENIED it was an error too; "Said Wells Fargo DOESN'T make mistakes". My Dad then took ALL but a dollar out of the account and waited. Took the bank a week to contact him about the error THEY had made. Dad said "Wells Fargo Doesn't make MISTAKES"; but since I'm an honest man, you can have your $2000 back and I'm closing my accounts with your bank."
I'd never trust BofA; they have never had a good reputation.
I've been with SunTrust bank here in Florida since 1985 and they've always done a good job.

I'm liking how the doc is talking here. Great description but beware of Wells Fargo also. They should have got cracked much harder for their multiple account scamming b.s.. I've told all my clients it's o.k. to use Fargo for time deposits only, not investments. You reminded me of something. Gonna post a thread about banks and trusts.

Actually all my BoA dealings have been through my Visa card. My bank accounts are with a local Federal credit union and BB&T bank. Wells Fargo and Boa surprisingly have placed temporary locks on my accounts. That would really bother me if I had accounts at either of them.

I recently found out that my Mastercard I had as part of my Prudential retirement setup was bought out by BOA. I was soooo pissed off. I can't do anything about it, just pay them off and tell them to go to hell when I am done. Mortgage fraud, crooked business account management, rude asshats Anti American bank should not be able to use the words "Bank of America"

You didn't answer fox mikes question. with no markings, how did you know he was a CPO?

Over the years I delt with BOA twice and both times it turned out BAD, never tried for the 3rd time. never will.

We've been with B of A since 1975.
Great service, never had a problem.
We like them.
Just call us rebellious.

I suppose that every time someone here starts a thread bitching about some company that they want everyone to agree with them. But I'm sorry, it ain't going to happen with me. The following is my story with BofA. I'm very happy with them.

I pay all my bills on BofA's website and have never had a problem in 20 some years. I did have a problem with a BofA debit card once. There were some odd charges on my card that originated back east some place. This different location was enough for an alert call from BofA to call the number on the debit card.

I checked the activity on my card online first then called that number. They went through my latest transactions and I told them which ones were not mine. They said they would take care of the problem and told me to go to my local branch and report the problem.

I went there and talked with an associate. He replaced my debit card on the spot with one with a new number on it. It was valid and usable right then. The people on the phone had canceled my original card. I think it took two days for them to replace the money in my account. I think it was around $1800. This was no problem for me as I always have way more than that in my account. I also keep $2000 cash in my safe deposit box for any emergencies.

I also have Lifelock services. I never did have to call them since the bank took care of everything. I'm kind of surprised though that Lifelock did not pick up on those charges originating back east on my card.

That was many years ago. Credit card accounts have gotten better now. I have them all set up to email me with a notice if there is a charge aver $10. They also notify me if any card has a charge where the security number on the back of the card was not given at the time of the charge.

I have charged something on the phone and receive one of those email notices within thirty minutes of the transaction so they work pretty well.

I am a B of A customer because they're the latest owner/successor to the bank (s) I have been doing business with for 40 years.

To the OP: I would guess, from a marketing standpoint, the details you mention are not directly related to the message of "Navy officers bank here." Or perhaps the Navy doesn't let them use their likeness for commercial purposes? However, I'm not sure what the regulations are about that.

But, as other people have said, what bank is pro-gun? That is pretty much an oxymoron.

My original point was if they are going to depict a military person, whether a model or otherwise they should
do so correctly.

Why don't you go back there and take a picture of that sign so we can see what you're talking about?
