Another Service Six cleaned up

Well, while at the Harrisburg RCA display, Tyrone grabbed me and we went to a table where this guy had a pretty beat up SS Police Service Six (It came out of a prison system, MD I believe). Well, I'm a sucker for beat up Sixes that I can refurbish. I got it for a real good price ($250). The bore is almost perfect and it locks up tight (they carry them a lot but hardly ever fire them, there was barely any discoloration on the front of the cylinder).

This one (.38 Spl) and another one finished just like this but in .357 Mag will be going up for sale here shortly. I have two others in .38 but they are consecutive serial numbers so I don't think I'm going to sell them yet.

And you actually got to see it in its original (fugly) condition.

Slim, Thanks for the complement, I really get enjoyment out of taking the bad and the ugly to the good (a little play on words that I did use on half of my display at the show).

Man, I have a Service Six from the same lot with the horrible bubba etchings, mines #166. I use mine as a beat up truck gun but may have to send it off to you someday to get a makeover.

I'd be glad to give them a makeover. The only cost would be my hourly rate, unless parts needed to be replaced, and return shipping costs. Since I am an FFL they can be sent directly to me and I can send them directly back to you (because they are being repaired/modified).

Man, that was some deep engraving to deal with. Good job. The bead blast finish sure looks better than what you started with. Have you considered polishing them again to match the cylinders? Throwing it out there. H

I was actually going for this look, something different. I have a Security Six that was in worse condition than this, it was a blued model. I Cerakoted the frame and barrel Graphite Black, the cylinder was done in Blue Titianium and I olished and jeweled the flutes. Again, a different look was what I was after. The guns are fully functional, just a bit different from the ordinary look. Some may like it, some may not, to each his own.

I think the bead blasting on the stainless looks excellent; almost wish the factory would do them that way!

I just picked up two of his refurbished weapons and the pictures DO NOT do them justice. great looking guns. Plus with all the work he has put into them they are like new. can't say enough on how nice they look.

I got the two tone and the 6 inch he has posted before. great weapons. great work.
