Another old Star

Another old Star I've had for a long time.
If I keep it clean, it shoots very good.
9mm Parabellum.

Have a very similar gun in 9mm Largo. What model is that? Mines a Star Super. Dad's got one just like mine. Used it to finish his deer this year after spining it with a 30-06. Kinda wish ours were in Parabellum as the Largo ammo can be a pain to find at times.

I used to own a Star M 9mm that was a good shooting gun. Yours looks very nice.

The Star is a fine hand gun. Often over looked.

OK, Now I'm intrigued as there are some slight differences between yours and mine. Could I trouble you for a photo of the other side? Mines quite similar to yours on this side except that my slide stop is shaped differently then yours and the "button" to the rear of the slide stop isn't present on my gun.

Also the markings on the side of our slides are almost identical except mine doesn't have the "P" behind the "9mm" which I'm quite sure stands for Parabellum on your gun.

One last question for now. Does your gun have the loaded cartridge indicator on the top of the slide?

That is a nice looking pistol Ed. I had Star in 9mm Largo back in the 90's. I got strung out on deer hunting & wound up trading it for a compound bow. It was a nice pistol. I probably should have kept it & just bought a bow.

I wish I'd bought a Star BKS when they were available. Even Jeff Cooper thought that was a useful, interesting gun.

I was just thinking. Years ago, I had the shorter model that was nickle plated with pearl grips. Another one of those "wish I still had it".
