I sort of tend to shoot this gun by spells. Used it a while back to work up my .45 Xtra Short cartridges, then stuck the .45 Colt cylinder back in place.

When I came home today and logged in my shooting, I noted this gun just passed the 10,000 round mark.

This old war horse remains very accurate with my handloads, and just a fun gun to shoot duelist style.

Very nice gun and history! How does HS-6 compare to Alliant 2400 powder? I have worked up some hotter Colt loads using same bullet with 20 gr. of it.
I get around 1100 FPS out of my 2.5 inch barrel Alaskan.

HS-6 is faster burning than 2400, sort of in the same area as Winchester 540 or Blue Dot. Good for high velocity to medium velocity loads, not as high as with 2400 or H110.

Its a spherical powder, meters very well, burns good. Very versatile, I use it in .38 Special, .357 Magnum, .44 Special, .44 Magnum, and .45 Colt.

Confess ignorance here, but what exactly is duelist style?

In duelist style, a shooter shoots one-handed, without support, and somewhat more relaxed than the bullseye stance.
