Another legend gone - RIP Omar Sharif

What a fabulous actor... His work in Lawrence of Arabia was nothing short of brilliant. I never cared for Dr. Zhivago, but I've been trying to find the good in it over the past few years.

Hi,

Other than the two movies mentioned, I'm not sure how much of Mr. Sharif's work I've seen, but he certainly did a memorable job in both of them. RIP to another of the "cast members" in our lives who will be hard to ever replace.

I can name one actor who became a legend, Ronald Reagan. :)

Love Zhivago. The winter scenes alone are worth watching it every year. I think it is a good depiction of how life changed for Russians once the Bolsheviks took power.

One of the most telling scenes in a movie about what it was all about .... was in Lawrence of Arabia when he shoots the guide of Lawrence who was drinking out of a well.. and Lawrence later asked why he killed the guy... "It wasn't his water......"
