As one gets older, more and more names we know pass on. When I was a kid I recall my Mom lamenting the passing of some entertainer or artist or other prominent person in her past and the name meant nothing to me. Now it certainly is the same for names I mention that my kids or grandkids look at my with confusion when I mention the name. Reality is that someday all of us will be gone, and for 99.999% of us, forgotten within a few generations at most. As the author Thomas Hobbes said, "The life of man is solitary, poor, nasty, brutish and short."

Not a comment on this death specifically. But just watch the news. Every week there are multiple celebrities dying. Most young (<60 yrs) and mostly suddenly; from aggressive cancer, heart attack, stroke or unknown cause. That doesn't account for the 10s (100s?) of thousands of everyday people who are doing likewise.
Probably just a long series of coincidences.

She is said to have died rather suddenly of a cardiac problem. Just three days earlier she attended the Golden Globe awards ceremony.

Thankyou. I stumbled on it a couple months ago and saved it on my phone. Elvis was larger than life, its easy to forget he was a dad too. He died so young.
