This is a note to Wyandot Jim on my wife's trip to China he posted on another topic. I put it here because others on the RF were aware of her trip, for all to see.
Annie is working on a website to describe her concert tour, but it is not done. She is in the process of sorting thru 3000 images from her trip :shock: :lol:
The short take: The concert tour started from Mesa, AZ in late July and ended with Annie returning home in early September. 35 Days in China, 24 concerts in 23 cities throughout the country. 10 musicians playing/singing traditional American music (Old Time, Cajun, Swing, Cowboy, Bluegrass), traveling by bus, bullet train (370 kph), and air. We were able to stay in touch via Skype, and usually connected every day. We were exactly 12 hours apart, and she would call 11:30 PM her time after the evening concerts. She had the time of her life, and it took about two weeks for her to decompress after coming home. They did get a chance to sightsee, they enjoyed the various foods, but never drank the water. Annie's roomie was a 19 year old very talented traditional fiddle player named Giselle. All the cities where they performed were 1 million people or larger. They did not play in Hong Kong or Beijing. The father of the youngest musician came along as a guest, and was fluent in Mandarin, being born in China. They also had a tour director from the sponsoring organization in China.
And yes, she would it again in a heartbeat :D :D
