As the title says I'm seriously considering buying one for groundhogs around the farm. I plan on only using factory ammo in the near future. How does this rifle like 55 or 58 grain bullets? I want to use the lightest bullet I can

I don't have a 243 but you should be fine from what I have read. My 300 blk is a tack driver.

If it's just for groundhogs and similar size animals why not get a .223? Cheaper ammo and less recoil even with similar weight bullets. My RAR in .223 Rem is a true 1 MOA or better rifle so accuracy is no problem.

If you plan to use it for deer also then the .243 is the better choice.

I was planning on a 243 because I'm already set for it if I decide to do any reloading. I also don't want to add another caliber at this time.
