Russia's iconic AK-47 to be made in USA

The weapon of choice for guerrillas, terrorists and the soldiers of armies around the world, some 100 million AK-47s have been made in Russia since it rolled off the line in 1947. But now, the company’s U.S. arm is planning to manufacture the gun at a plant in Pompano Beach, Fla.

Last year, RWC, which was the official importer and distributor of Kalashnikov firearms, was forced to cut ties with the Russian company. But it retained the U.S. rights to the name and initially opened a small assembly facility in Tullytown, Pa. Now, the company is planning a full-fledged manufacturing plant in the Atlantic Coast community just north of Fort Lauderdale.

This last week one of the TV shooting shows featured Century Arms. The show gave good reviews for the US made AK-47. A stamped model and a milled model were both featured. Suggested retail was $699 and $799 but I don't remember for sure which price was attached to which model.

From what I have heard in the industry here in colorado, this is a company with zero ties to Concern Kalashnikov, except of course using the copyright. As I understand, not stating a fact, the daughter of Mikhail Kalashnikov is already gearing up to sue in international copyright court. I've had a chance to handle a few, next to my Arsenal SGL21, (Benchmark for ak quality and military repro accuracy) and they aren't even remotely the same thing. No bayo lug, incorrect parts for a 'real' ak etc. You can still buy parts kits and NoDak's for less than one of those abominations as well, as long as your ready to put it together yourself (have a jig and press or a friend that does) comes to the same price lol. I've also heard and seen about 7 different variations on where they are going to be made as well, from PA to NM and AZ lol.

We'll have to wait and see but from what I've heard and seen these new USA made Kalashnikovs are
suppose to be really nice weapons. Well made, tight machines for an reasonable price. They of course
are not the only co. making all in the USA AKs but will be top of the line from what I can gather.
