Advice on buying my first 10/22 TD

It has been great reading all of the posts here. There is no doubt in my mind that the Ruger 10/22 takedown is the right choice for my first rifle. I could use some guidance on buying it. I have been thinking about buying it online as the prices are less. My LGD doesn't stock it.

Does anyone have experience with Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore? I also have been looking at Davidsons/Gallery of Guns. Any advice or feedback on reputable sources?

just talk to your local dealer i'm sure they can get you one as they are well stock at the suppliers,

Just go on Rugers site and look up the rifle you want at the bottom right corner of the page showing the gun you want click order the next page that comes up click check for availability and order that will take you to "Gun Genie" gun genie will show you your closet stocking dealers and price to have sent to a dealer nearest your location of your choosing, make deposit to Gun Genie and they send the gun to that dealer for you at the price they show.

Thanks 6gun! Went to Ruger.com and went through the Gun Genie and there are some LGD's near me at pretty good prices.

2nd round of advise:

be prepared to 'splain the silly grin on your face to those around you who are non-shooters in terms they can appreciate;

also stock up on 22LR ammo as some of them will insist on a taste.....

I live in southern New York State so there are plenty of clueless and foolish people around! I can't wait to share my silly grin!

Well I picked up my 10/22 TD today. First rifle and I can't wait to break her in. Drove to my families place in upstate NY. I will have plenty of land to set up a range.
