I finally got my SP101 back from MagNaPort. They did a great job. Added adjustable sights, velvatone finish, jeweled trigger and hammer and MagNaPort Logo. Shot it today with Federal 180 Hardcast and reloads with 158gr Hornady XTP FP's and HP's. Shot well with all.
Here are some pics;

Thats real nice. I always wished Ruger would have put a rear adjustable sight on the older SP101's. How much did all that set you back?

Mag-na-port Custom! :D

That S&W rear sight looks right at home on that puppy doesn't it!

And I've always preferred that barrel legnth.

SWEET! :D

Total cost was $510.00. Not cheap but nice. Had Ruger come out with the new 4" SP101 with fiber optics a month or two sooner I would have just bought one of that model.
But I am still very pleased with the end result. The velvatone finish is sweet. The hammer and trigger are jeweled. Just noticed in the first pic they look to have a different look, like CCH.

I don't think $510 is that bad at all, considering what it would have cost to have that rear sight installed after first having to buy the SP-101, not to mention the rest of the work.

That was the first thing I thought when I saw that hammer too.
(then I remembered it was stainless)

Real Nice! :D

$ 510 to have the work done AFTER you bought the gun?

STILL WORTH IT!

LOVE THAT SIGHT INSTALL! :D

Yep, $510.00 was after the price of the gun. I bought this gun new way back in the year that the serial number shows. So at least I dont have much in the gun prior to work done. (I think $310.00) I bobbed the original hammer when my wife kept it on her side of the bed. Picked up a new hammer some time ago, and installed it before I sent it in.

You happy?

That's what I thought.

WELL WORTH IT THEN! :D

That should have been a sight set up Ruger made.

Nice. Too bad Ruger never learned to put a soft-bead finish on their stainless guns.

I have always had a love/hate thing with C-more sights. They sure look nice when new!

I had Cylinder and Slide shop put on a J frame sight on my 3" 101. It makes a world of difference. I recently got one of the 4" with adjustable sights. I think I still like the 3" better.

I went to my deer timber Saturday to swap out cards in my trail cam. It carries very well in my Uncle Mikes hip hoster. I will have to see what fits it now with the addition of the sights. Hopefully I can get a Simply Rugged for it.
