Just picked up my little Blackhawk Convertible, today, and I already took it up in the woods to try it out.

Always wanted one, but this is the first .357/9mm convertible I've owned.

Always figured they were a novelty, but could make for inexpensive practice.

Many folks have reported that theirs are not great shooters, with the undersized 9mm bullet rattling down the barrel.

I'm here to tell you all, I am absolutely all smiles! :D :D :D :D

This little Blackhawk, with cheap-9mm ball ammo, is an absolute tack-driver. I tried an assortment of loads, and experienced the same results.

I am pleased.

WAYNO, I get to shoot it, right?? Daylight time starts soon, after work shooting season begins!! :D

You betcha! But then, you're gonna want one.

Ya know, you and I have shot a lot of Blackhawks, in a lot of different calibers and configurations. I will already go out on a limb and say, this is the best shooting of any of them. Maybe a combination of things...Cylinder throats, the right barrel and forcing cone, gun made on a Wednesday...Anyway, it's all come together to make for a great shooter.

See ya.

WAYNO.

I've had the same experience with my convertible. I always have it when taking kids to shoot. We work from 9mm up to 357 and they love it.

I bought one in 1983 and put a box of 9mm through it. After I shot some .357's through it, I put the 9mm cylinder away and never shot another through it. That Blackhawk is a tack driver and I once rolled a coyote @ 300 yards while talking to a ditch rider and had a pretty good reputation as a pistolero for awhile. Maybe it's time to get that old cylinder out again.
