That guy's mistake was being nonchalant when he observed the bison across the road. 100 yards is a minimum safe distance IMO. 30 yards is just asking to become a lawn dart. I encountered one at 50 yards in Yellowstone and immediately changed direction. Heck, I even approach "dead elk" with extreme caution - until I'm certain they are meat. I'm not even "bad enough" to toss a deer into a tree. I yield to the bigger beast.

Too gentle and woke. Had I said something like that to my dad he would simply have frog walked by down the stairs and out the front door. And that's if he was being nice. The kid learned nothing about respect, just property ownership.
