A Flight in the SNJ-4

Help Support Ruger Forum:

That's cool! I have a friend that owns one of those type planes and sometimes he makes a fly over in our area.

That is the way everybody wants it. The wind doen't beat you to death and the view is great. That SNJ has what is called a gunners hood. It folds forward so the gunner could rotate his seat 180 and swivel the M-2 30 Cal for gunnery practice.

Grandson searching for the enemy :D

I was a ground pounding grunt, but I certainly appreciate those who fly and help fight.

BTW: his girlfriend is a doll...this from an old guy who knows dolls...

Great video! When stationed in China Lake CA I had the opportunity to ride back seat in a TA-4F Skyhawk and an F4-J Phantom II. The thrill of my young life. Got air sick in the Phantom which was being flown by a Marine Major. It was worth it! Also flew off the USS MIDWAY in a C-2 COD. Quite a thrill too!

My mom and dad were both pilots. My dad was a flight instructor prior to and during WW2. My mom was the first woman to graduate from the CPT Program in about 1940. I took my first flight in an Aeronca two seater at age two months, according to a note I found recently in a baby book my mom kept.

A friend of mine had a AT-6 Texan called "Thunder Chicken" He took me up one day and
we did mock dogfighting with one of his buddies, an F-4 pilot. (In another AT-6) That was great.
I went out the next day and got my friend (Ex-A4 pilot) to teach me how to fly.
Never regretted it.
