Hi Guys,
Thinking about getting a SP in 9mm and wondering if you need the moon clips. Wouldn't the round stay in the chamber anyway. why do you need the clips?

I have a convertible Blackhawk and there is no clips on that.

Is it just a loading thing? Faster loading?

Thanks,

The moon clips are there so that one can extract the empties. There is no rim on the 9mm brass for the extractor star to engage. Remember, with the Blackhawk, one pushes them out one at a time with the ejector rod. Bob!! :D

So if a guy lost the clips he could still shot the gun but it would be a pain in the rear to get the cases out. Got it.

Thanks,

You don't need moon clips but they really help with loading and unloading.

I have enough moon clips for my 9mm SP101 that I can go to the range with 150 rounds loaded and ready to go.

Plus moon clips are not as bad as the reputation they get online.
