There was no fired case in the box for my SR1911 9mm.

Did anyone get a fired case with theirs ?

perhaps Ruger stopped including the case, dunno. Just curious.

They might have been doing that because the state of Marxland required it.

I heard that Marxland repealed that stupid law or suspended the program not long ago. If Marxland was the only state still doing that, then nobody has to do it anymore.

MD and NY both required it by law. Both no longer do. Makes sense for them to stop, lots less work.

So you'd think there would be a slight price reduction on handguns, then, right? I'm not holding my breath.

What's scrap brass going for by the ounce? :D
No, I mean the makers no longer have to go through the monkey-motion of including and documenting a fired case with each gun. You'd think that would save a couple bucks of production/manpower time.

One good thing it did was give one a date of about when the gun shipped. I got a SR1911CMD in Jan. 2013 and the fired case was dated 12/7/2012 which was sort of interesting.

You want a fired case, I'll send you a fired case of your very own?

The last few new Rugers I bought did not include a fired case. Asked the gun dealer about it. He said since certain states no longer required it, they (Ruger) aren't including them anymore.
