9/16-24 RH Muzzle Brakes

It looks like my options are limited for a 9/16"-24 RH muzzle brake. I see a few custom shops offer them, and so far this is the best that I have found:

I think part of my problem is that searching for 9/16x24 or 9/16"-24 or 9/16-24 in search engines isn't terribly consistent, and 9/16x24 LH is a common muzzle thread for other makes.

I'm looking for something that is more of a brake (holes up-ish) than the factory birdcage on a mini-14.

DSA has a few RH threaded brakes and flash hiders. You may want to check Sarco or Numrich for more FAL stuff. The DSA brakes/hiders tend to not be very expensive but they are well made. I have an Austrian short on an STG 58, loud but effective.

I've found that all of the off-the-shelf brakes in 9/16-24 were for much larger calibers, and from what I've read the effectiveness of a brake is somewhat dependent on how close the bore of the brake is to the bullet diameter.

I ended up buying a 4-hole brake from http://muzzlebrakesandmore.com He was able to bore it with a shoulder inside that the barrel rests on and I used shims to clock it. He also made it the correct internal size for 223 instead of 10mm which is common for 9/16-24 RH.

Hopefully I'll get it out to the range soon for a test. I'll let you all know how happy I (and the people next to me are) with it's performance.

Well I made it to the range. This brake works great. The muzzle basically doesn't move at all. Compared to the bird cage it was a big change. I'm not a rapid fire person but before it would jump off the target with each shot, making getting the scope on target a bit difficult. That's gone now. I even compared it to a pin-on muzzle brake on another Mini-14 and this one was significantly better. It was funny to feel the gas on my hair while shooting however. I'm sure that it was louder with the brake, but I didn't hear any complaints and my BIL did with his Bushmaster and its brake.
